Moving south from Killington you will find another excellent Vermont family ski vacation idea, Mount Snow. This ski resort really caters to families. Their Kids Rule Adventure Week features free lift tickets for kids under 12, pizza & movie night, a scavenger hunt, character breakfast with the Snow Monsters and more. Mount Snow has learning programs for all ages with the emphasis on Fun. They feature a rope tow and beginner chairlift, certified ski and snowboard instructors, special teaching terrain and indoor learning facilities.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort, in Colorado, is set in an incredibly beautiful spot surrounded by six mountain peaks. Their expert areas include steep trees and bowls on advanced terrain. There’s a superpipe, Canaan terrain park, kid's park, tubing hill and plenty of beginner’s area.

Discovery Park is a unique beginner’s area designed to facilitate learning-to-ski. It’s great for children and novices to practice on.

Winter Park has a top-rated children’s ski program at the Children’s Center with lots of programs for all ages. Off the slopes everyone can enjoy riding the giant inner tubes at Fraser Tubing Hill. Take a spin on a snowmobile, go on a night sleigh ride or gather for dinner around a bonfire. This is a good choice for a family ski vacation idea.
